This is a little spot to introduce myself, my name is Linda and I am a wife, mother and grandmother. I have 5 children and 11 grandchildren.

I have always loved sewing and crafts from a very early age. My aunt bought  me a toy sewing machine at 7 years old and I was hooked!

I made lots of things and as a teenager made my own clothes. At 13 I went to technical college and learnt all about “couture” dressmaking, and from there I went on to qualify as an alteration hand for ladies wear in London.

At the time I needed a new challenge so I moved job to a small factory making ladies garments and learned how to bulk cut, sort and  use every machine in the factory! (this has come in handy for my patchwork!).

I then had a break from sewing until my children were born, then I was making clothes and other things for them. I tried lots of other crafts, cards, knitting, crochet, and still did small alterations to my own clothes as my shape changed!

When the children had reached their teen years I decided it was time I did something else, so I enrolled in a course at college for City and Guild Patchwork, quilting and appliqué course; well I was addicted, and I’ve never looked back. My tutor was awesome and she has exhibited at Malvern and won several times. I have been making quilts ever since.

Each grandchild that was born had a quillow which was treasured until the baby quillow had to go and new ones replaced them.

All of my children have had quilts made for them in the colour of their choice when they have moved into homes of their own. My eldest grand-daughter requested a new one when she went to university and it goes everywhere with her.

All of my quilts are made from good quality cotton material which is pre washed before making up and they are all unique in as much as each one is different. The designs can be repeated if required but maybe not in the same fabric or colour (please request any design you may like and wherever possible I will try to accommodate). I have recently purchased a Grace frame to enable myself to do long arm quilting, so I am hoping in the future to be able to offer machine quilting of your own quilts to my service.
